Good restaurant, but poor value for money. We opted for the €86 six-course menu (excluding drinks). First of all, the portions are ridiculously small. It's really just a sampling. To give you an example, the "Saint Jacques" (scallop) is one scallop sliced into thin strips, carpaccio-style. Well, that's one dish, admittedly very good. This problem of extremely small portions is present in every dish. Worse, we discovered after ordering that when we upgraded to the six-course menu, the portions of some dishes were halved (e.g., the poultry), while the price jumped by €24. Furthermore, some dishes lacked originality (amuse-bouche, poultry, chocolate dessert). We have experience with fine dining restaurants (Puits St Jacques, Sarran, Pyr, Pois Gourmand, Hortus...), and honestly, this is what struck me most about our experience at L'Écorce. It's very stingy compared to other restaurants. For me, there's a problem with its positioning; it's too expensive for the food offered, especially considering what competing restaurants of the same caliber in Toulouse offer, and too close in price to Michelin-starred restaurants, which are significantly more expensive. We won't be back.
