The Notre-Dame de la Dalbade church, located in Toulouse, is a religious building with a rich and eventful history.

His story

The name "Dalbade" comes from the Latin word "dealbata", which means "whitewashed" hence its white appearance when it was built.

A first church stood on this site as early as the 6th century, but it was destroyed by fire in 1442. The current church was rebuilt at the end of the 15th century, in a southern Gothic style.

Its architecture

The church is notable for its Renaissance portal and its colored ceramic tympanum, created in 1878 by Gaston Virebent. This work is inspired by Fra Angelico's "Coronation of the Virgin".
