Hôtel Saint-Jean Historic Monument in Toulouse

The Hôtel Saint-Jean de Toulouse, also known as the Hôtel de Malte or the Prieuré Hospitalier de Toulouse, is a remarkable historic building located on rue de la Dalbade.

History and occupants

The hotel was established by the Knights Hospitaller of Saint John of Jerusalem at the end of the 11th century, near the church of Dalbade, on a major axis of the Way of St. James . It then served as a Grand Priory until the middle of the 17th century.
Today, it houses the offices of the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs (DRAC) of Occitanie.

The hotel features architectural elements from the late Renaissance and Baroque periods.
