    • The most populated commune in Ariège, Pamiers is located around sixty kilometers from Toulouse and around twenty kilometers from Foix.

Pamiers has an interesting civil and religious architectural heritage (17th-18th century). You can't miss the Saint-Antonin Cathedral and its impressive red brick bell tower, in the Toulouse style. We won't forget to mention the Notre-Dame-du-Camp church and its carillons, the Cordeliers Tower and its octagonal bell tower as well as the Tower of the Mint, the former watchtower of a 15th century mint.

In terms of gastronomy, you can taste the local cassoulet made, among other things, from cocos de Pamiers, round beans with a unique flavor.

Pamiers is a city with both an oceanic and mountainous climate. Winters are therefore mild and snow appears around January. Severe heat waves are rare, but thunderstorms are frequent in spring and autumn.

The natural heritage around Pamiers is quite rich with walks, hikes (on foot, on horseback or by bike), sports and leisure activities (tree climbing, climbing, etc.), water sports (canoeing, paddle boarding, fishing, etc.) and even theme parks.

Très bon accueil à l'Office du tourisme où l'on m'a rechargé mon téléphone portable et gardé mon vélo avant de me proposer une visite de la cathédrale, fermée au public, et un tour de la ville après la fermeture de l'Office. Très sympa.

As good pilgrims, we stopped in Pamiers and wanted to visit the cathedral. Crash, some young fools had picnicked inside, without cleaning it up of course, and it's closed to the public. David from the tourist office offered us a tour after the tourist office closed, and then we continued with a visit to some of the city center's main attractions, with lots of information and anecdotes. Thank you for your involvement and kindness; that's what a welcome!

The welcome was very pleasant and warm. Mr. David is passionate and does not hesitate to show you in person the treasures of his beautiful city of Pamiers. Thanks to him, we were able to discover architecture and motifs that we would not have been able to see on our own. We have very rarely been welcomed in this way and there is nothing better to attach you emotionally to this beautiful city and its beautiful region. We will come back to visit it as it made our mouths water. A thousand thanks, Mr. David, it was a wonderful moment.
