The Notre-Dame-du-Camp church in Pamiers is a Catholic religious building steeped in history, listed as a historic monument.

History and Architecture

The church is in a southern Gothic style, typical of the region.
Its history is marked by the Wars of Religion, which led to its destruction in 1577, with the exception of the bell tower.
It was rebuilt in the 17th century, and in the 19th century, its original portal (12th century) was remodeled, of which only a few vestiges remain.
The church was erected as a collegiate church in 1466.

Notable features

The building has a basilica plan with a wide nave, side chapels and a vaulted brick chevet.
Its robust western facade is flanked by towers and surmounted by battlements.
The portal, in gray-green sandstone, has an arched vault.

The church was classified as a Historic Monument in 1912 and registered in 2001.
The church organ is a major element of heritage, it was classified as a Historic Monument for its instrumental part in 1979 and for its case in 1997.
