Marc and Noa, a father and daughter, are now the proud owners of a park deeply rooted in its local area : the Lapenne Animal Park. Passionate about nature and in love with their region, they are committed to preserving, protecting, and passing on this unique place where respect for animals and the environment are paramount. Spanning 76 hectares in the heart of the Ariège region, this unusual location offers the chance to encounter bison, as well as llamas, yaks, Watusi cattle from Africa, auk, rheas, wallabies… and many more, with over 30 different species ! While the animals are stunning, the setting is equally breathtaking, as the residents roam among forests, lakes, wetlands, and rolling hills that perfectly represent their natural habitat.

Unusual visits and encounters in the heart of Ariège

The star of the park is the American bison, an animal of quiet strength that can nevertheless reach speeds of up to 70 km/h. Several options are available to discover and admire this magnificent herbivore and its park neighbors:

• A walking tour along two trails offers the chance to immerse yourself in a magnificent hilly and wooded setting and observe the animals of the park and mini-farm (allow 1.5 hours for this immersive walk). Keep an eye out, as the park keepers feed the animals throughout the day, giving you the opportunity to observe them up close and ask all your questions to a knowledgeable enthusiast.
• An immersive walk through the heart of the fallow deer enclosure, where they roam freely around you. Rather timid, they do not approach easily but offer a sublime natural spectacle to visitors who admire them in an exceptional setting.
