    • A thermal spa in the Hautes-Pyrénées (altitude 950 metres), Cauterets has been known for the virtues of its thermal waters for centuries!

      Two establishments welcome spa guests:

      • Les Thermes des Griffons, a rheumatology center in a natural setting at the foot of a waterfall, accessible on foot or by free shuttle.
      • The Thermes de César, located in the city center of Cauterets, offers treatments in rheumatology, respiratory tract (adults and children) and dual orientation.

In addition to thermal treatments for rheumatology and respiratory tracts, the Cauterets Thermal Baths offer their spa guests comprehensive health care, in the form of therapeutic education, health workshops or packages.

The personalized mini-cures and the two-hour thermal discovery are the ideal alternatives for people who cannot devote three weeks to their treatment.

The Cauterets tourist office offers numerous accommodation options.

Redirected to Cauterets following technical problems at the Argelès-Gazost thermal baths, I, a resident of the valley, underwent a 3-week ENT treatment which has just concluded. Overall, the experience was very positive, with the sodium sulfide water being an obvious plus. The procedures are equivalent to those in Argelès (nasal bath, gargle, inhalation, throat irrigation, sodium aerosol, air bath, or jet shower). The facility is spacious, well-equipped, and clean, with superb mountain views (luckily, October was beautiful and mild). The staff is generally friendly (this varies from person to person), with special thanks to Deborah, Myriam, Overmarthe, and Nicolas. The organization was satisfactory. Note: the changing room system, currently manual, could benefit from automation. One area for improvement: the essential calm and necessary silence for ENT procedures and the mandatory 15-minute rest periods between inhalation and aerosol treatments, for example, would be greatly enhanced if everyone (patients and staff) adhered, as some already do, to speaking in hushed tones, without commenting loudly and incessantly on the ups and downs of daily life. Soft music could potentially contribute to this improvement. [The following sentence appears to be incomplete and possibly nonsensical: "Is it necessary calming down and silence during ENT procedures and the 15-minute rest periods, mandatory between inhalation and aerosol treatments, for example, would be incomplete and possibly nonsensical.] Another point to consider: avoid comments about spa guests' arrival times (for three weeks, I heard almost daily, "Ah, you're the last one," even though, scheduled for 10:30 a.m., I regularly arrived early—and I learned that other guests were scheduled for 10:40 a.m., or even 11:00 a.m.). It would be invaluable if the HR department reminded those concerned of this during the specific training they undoubtedly provide. The efforts for Halloween were commendable and the results very successful, creating a very pleasant atmosphere. Thank you to the teams who contributed to the success of this spa treatment.
