    • Lake Gaube is an emblematic lake in the French Pyrenees, located in the commune of Cauterets, in the heart of the Pyrenees National Park.


      You need good shoes to climb it, even if the path is very easy to access. Allow about 1 hour for the climb. There is also access with a cable car and a chairlift from the Pont d'Espagne.

      Lake Gaube is at an altitude of 1,725 meters. It is dominated by the majestic Vignemale, the highest peak in the French Pyrenees. Its depth is around forty meters for a surface area of 19 hectares.
