Cauterets is a charming commune in the Hautes-Pyrénées, located in the heart of the French Pyrenees. It is about 30 minutes south of Lourdes and about 200 km southwest of Toulouse.

Cauterets is renowned for its sulphurous thermal waters, used to treat various ailments.
It is also a popular ski resort, with two ski areas: Cirque du Lys (downhill skiing) and Pont d'Espagne (cross-country and downhill skiing).
