    • LE PRIEURÉ IN MADIRAN: A RESTAURANT BETWEEN TRADITION, FLAVORS AND CONVIVIALITY

A characterful table in the heart of Madiran, in the Hautes-Pyrénées

Housed in an old building steeped in history, Le Prieuré welcomes its visitors in an authentic and warm setting, a few steps from the center of the village of Madiran, in the Hautes-Pyrénées.

Today run by Jacky Tillos and his team, this gourmet restaurant celebrates generous, sincere cuisine where you will discover exceptional flavors.

Each plate highlights local products, from small producers in the region: Duck, lamb, seasonal vegetables and Madiran wines are perfectly served on the table, for a cuisine that draws its richness from Gascon tradition.

A place of sharing and history...

The Priory 's dining room retains traces of its monastic past, with its stone walls, exposed beams and peaceful atmosphere.

The shaded terrace, open in fine weather, offers an ideal break to enjoy an outdoor meal, to the rhythm of the nearby bell tower. The team ensures that the welcome remains warm and simple, faithful to the spirit of the house, but taking into account a high-end service.

An address firmly anchored in its territory

Le Prieuré in Madiran is much more than a restaurant : it is a meeting point for locals, winemakers, walkers and visitors curious to discover the culinary richness of the southwest. The menu evolves with the seasons and follows the rhythm of local markets and harvests. The establishment is also prized for its proximity to wine estates, hiking trails, and the many surrounding natural sites.

Would you like to treat your loved ones to a gourmet meal? Le Prieuré also offers gift vouchers for a gourmet experience or a stay in its guest rooms, or both. (contact the restaurant directly)

The restaurant's plus: The Prieuré guest rooms

The Priory also offers charming guest rooms, carefully furnished in the old building. Each offers peace, comfort, and views of the Hautes-Pyrénées countryside. An ideal option for extending your stay and fully enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the place, in high-end comfort.

WHAT TO DO AROUND MADIRAN: DISCOVERIES AT YOUR FINGERTIPS

Just minutes from Le Prieuré restaurant, the Madiranais hills reveal superb hiking trails. The Madiran vineyard circuit, marked and accessible, allows you to cross the rows of vines.

Within a radius of 15 kilometers, several typical villages are worth a stop: Maumusson-Laguian, Castelnau-Rivière-Basse, Termes-d'Armagnac and Viella offer a lively glimpse of Gascon architecture. The Château de Crouseilles, a few kilometers away, offers guided tastings and a magnificent view of the vineyards. Not forgetting Marciac, just 20 minutes away, known for its jazz festival and its market under the arcades.

Around Madiran, small producers open their doors to visitors and you will discover the weekly markets, notably those of Plaisance or Maubourguet which are full of fresh produce, artisanal specialties and sincere human encounters.

As usual, we enjoyed ourselves in a setting that was always so sumptuous. The service was impeccable and timely, and the prices were unbeatable. No gargantuan dishes, but always a little research, without excess, based on good products. There were 8 of us at the table, and all 8 left satisfied, young and old alike. We will never tire of returning as a couple or with our friends, who will undoubtedly discover this beautiful place.
