    • THE PRIORY IN MADIRAN: A RESTAURANT BETWEEN TRADITION, FLAVORS AND FRIENDLINESS

A restaurant with character in the heart of Madiran, in the Hautes-Pyrénées

Housed in an old building steeped in history, Le Prieuré welcomes its visitors in an authentic and warm setting, a few steps from the centre of the village of Madiran, in the Hautes-Pyrénées.

Today, run by Jacky Tillos and his team, this gourmet restaurant celebrates generous and sincere cuisine, where you will discover exceptional flavors.
Each dish showcases local products from small producers in the region: duck, lamb, seasonal vegetables or Madiran wines are appropriately brought to the table, for a cuisine that draws its richness from Gascon tradition.

      The Priory's Menus

The restaurant offers an adult menu at €26, including starter, main course and dessert, as well as a children's menu at €12, suitable for children aged 0–12.
The menu changes every 15 days, in order to guarantee freshness, variety and culinary creativity throughout the season.

A place for sharing and history...

The Priory's dining room retains traces of its monastic past, with its stone walls, exposed beams and peaceful atmosphere.

The shaded terrace, open as soon as the weather is fine, offers an ideal setting to enjoy a meal outdoors, accompanied by the gentle chimes of the nearby church bell. The team ensures a warm and unpretentious welcome, true to the spirit of the establishment, while providing attentive service.

An address firmly rooted in its territory

The Priory in Madiran is much more than a restaurant: it is a meeting point for locals, winemakers, walkers and visitors curious to discover the culinary richness of the Southwest.
The menu evolves with the seasons and follows the rhythm of local markets and harvests.

The establishment also benefits from a privileged location, close to vineyards, hiking trails and many surrounding natural sites.

Looking to treat your loved ones to a gourmet meal? Le Prieuré offers gift vouchers for a culinary experience, a stay in its guest rooms, or both. (Contact the restaurant directly.)

The restaurant's best feature: The Priory's guest rooms

The Priory also offers charming guest rooms, carefully furnished in the old building. Each room provides peace, comfort and views of the Hautes-Pyrénées countryside.
An ideal way to extend your stay and fully enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the place, in high-end comfort.

WHAT TO DO AROUND MADIRAN: DISCOVERIES WITHIN REACH

Just a few minutes from Le Prieuré restaurant, the Madiran hills reveal superb hiking trails. The Madiran vineyard circuit, marked and accessible, allows you to walk through the rows of vines.

Within a 15 kilometer radius, several typical villages are worth a stop: Maumusson-Laguian, Castelnau-Rivière-Basse, Termes-d'Armagnac or Viella offer a vivid glimpse of Gascon architecture.
The nearby Château de Crouseilles offers guided wine tastings and magnificent views of the vineyards. And don't forget Marciac, just 20 minutes away, famous for its jazz festival and its market under the arcades.

Around Madiran, small producers gladly welcome visitors, and the weekly markets — particularly those of Plaisance or Maubourguet — are full of fresh produce, artisanal specialties and wonderful human encounters.

The staff serving us seemed very depressed; we tried in vain to lighten the mood, but unfortunately, the atmosphere remained very gloomy. Luckily, we were in good company 🥴
