  Very disappointing stay – Vacancéole / Hôtel Illixon – Bagnères-de-Luchon I am very dissatisfied with our stay at this apartment hotel. Upon arrival, we were asked to pay a €300 security deposit (credit card or cash). This wasn't just a simple credit card authorization: the amount was actually debited, which was not clearly indicated at the time of booking. Additional charges were then added: Tourist tax €15 for parking for the week ➡️ Approximately €35 extra, which we hadn't anticipated. The keys were handed over without any inventory check. After more than 7 hours of driving, we thought we'd be able to take a hot shower… but the water heater wasn't even turned on: our first evening was spent in an icy cold shower. 🚨 Cleanliness: a major drawback The apartment appeared to have been closed up for months: A huge layer of dust on the shelves Electrical outlets sticking out of the wall Blocked air vents in the bathroom and kitchen Very unpleasant odors at night. 🛏️ Bedding and linens No sheets or blankets provided Guests were required to bring their own duvet cover and fitted sheet, without prior information on sizes. The mattress protectors were not washed, only vacuumed to remove hair. Despite using our own sheets, there was still an odor of sweat and even feces left by the previous tenants. ➡️ This is simply unacceptable. 🍽️ Amenities The dishwasher was clogged upon arrival (I unclogged it myself). Very limited kitchen: No oven No raclette grill or rental available. Only a stovetop + microwave + small refrigerator ➡️ For a winter stay in the mountains, this is clearly insufficient. 🚿 Bathroom No shower cradle The shower wall leaks everywhere A simple shower curtain would have been more effective No hairdryer / available for loan at reception during opening hours!!! 🧺 Laundry facilities Washing machines and dryers are coin-operated (€10), The machine doesn't give change, Located in a separate building, Unlit parking lot: without lights, it's a complete nightmare. 👥 Staff The staff are genuinely pleasant and helpful, but it's clear that management doesn't provide them with the resources to ensure an acceptable level of cleanliness and service. 💳 Deposit returned late Our €300 deposit was returned a week later, which caused us financial hardship during our stay. All these unforeseen issues strained our budget and ruined our vacation. We will never stay at Vacancéole again. Vacanceole = major drawback.

  The location is superb. Close to the ski lift and on the main street with shops and restaurants. We had booked several apartments and requested that they be combined. Unfortunately, that didn't happen, and we were spread across two buildings and on the top floor. It was also a bit inconvenient because the elevators were constantly broken. The apartment itself was fine. You can park on-site, though in very tight spots, but it's under the building. There are lockers for ski equipment, some okay, but others that were absolutely too small, especially the one for the apartment for 8. There wasn't even enough room for four people's belongings in there. We also only received one key per apartment, even for the apartment for 8 people. That was quite inconvenient.

  Not great, a very dirty sofa, not very clean dishes, uncomfortable bedding, and no coffee table. However, the accommodation was very quiet. We were in a room for disabled people, which seems inappropriate to me.
