Domaine la Vallée d'Ax-Vacancéole is an excellent choice for a stay in Ariège. It offers comfortable, well-equipped apartments, perfect for relaxing with family or friends. The residence's biggest advantage is its peaceful, natural setting. The location is very convenient, not far from the village of Ax-les-Thermes and the gondola lift, allowing easy access to the ski slopes or the town center via pedestrian paths. All the staff are very friendly and helpful; the reception staff even prepares a binder with all the activities available in the surrounding area, so don't hesitate to check out this very useful binder! 😁

This is a place where you have to put on your own sheets as soon as you arrive (sheets with holes). The worst part is that when you leave, they give you a sheet with everything you have to do (remove the sheets and towels, sweep and mop the entire apartment, clean everything) before you leave, otherwise they take your €300 deposit, which I find completely excessive. On top of that, checkout is at 10:00 AM. The apartment itself is very basic, with little charm. The kitchen equipment they provide is quite poor (e.g., no paper towels, no coffee filters for a drip coffee maker...), with broken cups and a pan that sheds black Teflon when you cook in it. The "welcome kit" is basically a small packet with a little dish soap, a garbage bag, a sponge, and a dishcloth. Also, the hallways smell musty. I seriously doubt they clean beyond what they make the previous guest do. Place to avoid.
