A mixed review of our 3-day stay at this hotel: the initial reception was unpleasant. We were told that check-in wasn't until 3:30 PM and that we would have to come back because no one could accommodate us before then. It was noon, and we just wanted to drop off our luggage! (The hotel is in the middle of the countryside.) When we insisted, having traveled a long way after a 5-hour drive, the owner told us she would wait for us, but that it would mean going back (which was untrue!). She said it wasn't convenient for her because she wouldn't be able to make her appointment (!) and that the room wouldn't be ready anyway! I should point out that we were the only guests! After two attempts at finding a room, the first one offered didn't have a working key… we were told we'd been upgraded… to a huge room with a jacuzzi that was off-limits (!), no air conditioning, windows and shutters closed all day, and intense heat. There was no fan, and no access to the pool, which hadn't been cleaned… a shame, because the hotel's location is very pleasant, and the rest of the staff are charming and efficient. Breakfasts are very good and plentiful, and the chef's dinners are fantastic!

Since our previous comment was deleted, I'll reiterate: upon arrival, the suite we had booked several weeks in advance had been given to another guest. As compensation, the receptionist told us she would offer us a discounted price, but this discounted price was higher than the current offer! During the meal, which was a gift voucher, this same person came to check three times that we understood the wine pairing, criticizing us for not having printed it out. The wine, by the way, wasn't worth the extra cost. To top it all off, they offered us a free night in the suite as compensation for a wedding gift—a wedding celebrated weeks ago, and still nothing in sight. In short, this establishment is overrated, both in terms of its restaurant and the hotel itself.

The room was splendid, the hotel magnificent, but the real highlight was the Chef's menu: a remarkable gastronomic experience. Refined cuisine, high-quality ingredients, and perfectly balanced flavors. Thank you for this wonderful culinary experience. Eric and Sonia
