The cradle of Pyreneism and heir to a long mountain tradition, the Gavarnie-Gèdre ski resort, created in 1971, generally welcomes you from mid-December to mid-March.

It offers a grandiose and unrivaled high mountain setting in the Pyrenees, being located in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy an exceptional panorama of the majestic Cirque de Gavarnie, the world-famous Brèche de Roland and many 3000 m peaks in the surrounding area.

The ski area, suitable for all levels, offers 25 slopes (5 green, 10 blue, 6 red, 4 black) spread over 32 km of skiing between 1820 m and 2322 m altitude. It notably includes the longest green slope in the Pyrenees, " Les Marmottes " (5.5 km or 6.5 km depending on the source, easy and accessible from the top of the area).

The pleasure of observing the panorama from the top of the resort is not reserved for the best. In Gavarnie-Gèdre, the whole family can take the chairlifts together and choose their favorite route in ideal circumstances.

Skiing but not only, the resort offers many activities:

•  Snowshoe trails (free and open access in the heart of the Cirque de Gavarnie).
• Unusual rides in a snow groomer and snow tubing.
• A fun and educational treasure hunt (free activity accessible to all).
• Free and open access to the toboggan area.

In addition, the resort is engaged in an improvement project for the coming years aimed at modernizing the infrastructure (replacing the Pic des Tentes chairlift with a 4-seater) and improving the beginner areas.
