Passionate about mountains and nature, and in love with the Ariège region and its wild valleys, I've been coming to Oust for 50 years, hiking its peaks with undiminished joy and the hope of one day observing the animal that everyone talks about: the BEAR! This dream finally came true when I contacted Florent Antras. What a privilege to be able to share this magical and unique experience with Florent. He is a passionate and engaging man who lives his passion with such intensity that it becomes contagious, making every moment unforgettable! Florent Antras is a bottomless well of knowledge about bears, as well as all the fauna and flora that surround them. Highly competent and a natural teacher, he managed to interest my children (teenagers glued to their phones) and involve them in the search for traces of this iconic animal. Observing wildlife in its natural habitat requires time, patience, and silence; A challenging trip for "my teenagers." But Florent knew how to talk to them, motivate them, and ignite their passion to achieve this. It was well worth the effort, as thanks to Florent's professionalism and his high-quality equipment, we were able to admire two magnificent adult bears (impressive!) roaming peacefully. Respectful of nature and its local wildlife, Florent Antras plans his trips in such a way as not to disturb his guests. This is how, by blending into the landscape, we were able to observe wild boars, chamois, does, peregrine falcons, griffon vultures, and the BEAR! In short: As you can tell, I absolutely loved our two days of total immersion in nature with a passionate and competent guide, which will leave all three of us with incredible and unforgettable memories. I highly recommend this experience, even to those with significant apprehensions.

Denis took us to Montségur on August 1st to watch the sunrise. Well, the sun didn't make an appearance, but Denis donned his finest troubadour attire for a special performance: several musical pieces played on medieval-inspired instruments. During the tour of the ruins, he also recounted some of the events that had marked the life (and end) of the fortress. A wonderful time for the whole group.

The 3-day survival course with Dahu went very well. We were lucky to have two guides for a small group, who taught us the basics of survival (orientation, water filtration, fire building, bivouacking, and herbalism). The course focused primarily on map and compass navigation. We left with a solid foundation that allows us to hike independently in the mountains without a GPS. The course is accessible to anyone capable of hiking 10km in the mountains.
