Thomas Piquemal is an independent winemaker. On his wine estate in Ariège , the Domaine d'Engraviès in Vira, near Mirepoix, he offers wine tourism activities to come and discover his work, his land, his wines and his work to transform the precious grape into a great wine under IGP Ariège.

Thomas organizes gourmet meal events on the wine estate every year. These convivial moments allow you to discover not only the wines of Domaine d'Engraviès but also the history and passion that accompany them. Tastings and visits are also possible in July and August, every Thursday morning at 10 a.m. For at least 2 hours (it's free), he invites you to learn more about his daily life. Thomas takes care of everything, from the seed to the sale of the bottle! He plants the vines, maintains them, harvests them by hand, presses the grapes, vinifies them, ages them and bottles them until they are sold.

The wines of Domaine d'Engraviès: Character, complexity and authenticity of viticulture in Ariège

His wines have character, they are made from 5 grape varieties : Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon for the red wines; Chenin and Viognier for the rosé wines. Berdomenel, a long-forgotten 100% Ariège grape variety, was planted on the Estate in 2025, as an experiment. He makes plot selection to get the best out of these 5 grape varieties, according to the qualities and exposure of his plots. He makes blends to produce 5 vintages of red wine and 1 vintage of rosé. These wines are predominantly spicy, sometimes also fruity. They benefit from a beautiful length in the mouth and the most beautiful vintages are complex and rare.
