    • Argelès-Gazost, gateway to the Lavedan Valleys in the Hautes-Pyrénées, is a dynamic and attractive town renowned for its exceptional natural setting and strategic location at the foot of the mountains.

      Its name, combining Argelès and Gazost, bears witness to its history and geographical location. "Argelès" means " clayey place " in Gascon, while "Gazost" was the name of an ancient local lordship.

      Must-see sites

      The town is an important tourist centre, serving as an ideal base for exploring iconic sites in the Pyrenees such as:

      • The Gavarnie Circus;
      • The Spanish Bridge;
      • The Pic du Midi de Bigorre;
      • Famous ski resorts such as Luz-Ardiden, Hautacam and Cauterets.

      Argelès-Gazost offers a pleasant living environment, with its lively streets, shops, traditional markets and numerous leisure activities. There are parks, green spaces and the proximity of nature invites you to practice hiking, cycling and other outdoor activities.

      The town also boasts a rich historical and cultural heritage. The Saint-Saturnin church, with its typical Pyrenean bell tower, is a fine example. The Pyrenees Animal Park, located a few kilometers away, is a popular attraction for families.

      Argelès-Gazost is also known for its thermal spa, a legacy of a tradition of cures linked to sulfurous water springs. This wellness center contributes to the town's appeal throughout the year.

    Jovial welcome, we do our best to inform us about our planned outings in this beautiful region. Signage for the flowery and architectural walk to be put back in place to fully enjoy it. See you soon and thank you again.
