Station de Ski Cauterets-Le Lys Snow / Ski / The Pyrénées Ski resorts in Cauterets

With its 36 km of slopes, renowned for its snow, the Cauterets winter sports resort and its Cirque du Lys area are the ideal place for downhill skiing and snowboarding . The resort is only 30 minutes from Lourdes. From the town centre, take the Lys cable car (15 minutes), then the Grand Barbat chairlift to reach an altitude of 2300 m in 25 minutes, where you can reach the high peaks with an exceptional view of the Pic du Midi, Vignemale, Péguère and Balaïtous.

Cauterets became a ski resort in the 1960s. For cross-country skiing (36.5 km of trails), as well as snowshoeing (6 km of marked trails) through the pine forests, Cauterets Pont d'Espagne is the place to be, although it does have 3 downhill ski slopes and a developed toboggan run.

Cauterets is also popular for its attractive village with entertainment, activities to do off the slopes and a fun thermal and treatment center: Les bains du Rocher.
