    • An unforgettable spectacle in the heart of the Pyrenees!

The Castle of Beaucens, in the Hautes Pyrénées, houses one of the most prestigious collections of raptors: Kites, Vultures, Eagles, Eagles, Falcons and Buzzards rub shoulders with Parrots. On a musical background, a beautiful spectacle rich in emotion to discover during the Spring holidays at the end of September, 15 km from Lourdes. Children and adults are delighted.

      THE SETTING:
In the Pyrenees, there is a medieval castle that has stood for 10 centuries on the rocky outcrop overlooking the village of BEAUCENS. Located 15 km from Lourdes, very close to Argelès-Gazost, the imposing ruin offers a wide panorama over the valley and the Pyrenean chain. It houses in its old walls one of the most prestigious collections of diurnal and nocturnal raptors in the whole world.

      BIRDS IN FREEDOM:
The birds of prey are displayed in an attractive and original way, mostly without cage or bars, according to the traditional falconer technique ; educational scrolls tell you about the biology of each species. Only the art inherited from the falconers of the Middle Ages, AFFAÎTAGE (training) based on patience and gentleness allows you to admire these magnificent sailboats in their fullness.

A SHOW AT THE FOOT OF THE DUNGEON:
Every afternoon, you can admire them moving freely in the Pyrenean sky. They will be joined by our astonishing parrots, sociable, noisy and multicolored in an exceptional animal show, rich in beauty and emotion. If our raptors and parrots are tame, during our flight demonstrations there is no question of turning them into circus animals and asking them for something other than what they know and like to do in nature. It is there in their environment that they must be loved and protected…

Come and discover them and admire them very closely!

The most beautiful setting, the birds amazing and even though the show was cancelled, the explanations and experiences with the birds was lovely. We will be back and hopefully get to see the show next time around.

Too much people for the area, have to follow a queue to see all the raptors. Also needs to be completely in front to well see the show.Interesting to see eagles and Falcon very close.

A very nice place for a visit. The show is overwhelming. They have mostly birds of prey. The let them fly very close above the audience' heads which is great. Birds do not look stressed at all. Best part was the Condor.

Very interesting place with loads of birds on display. Not sure if they're happy being kept there, but I guess they do come back? The show was great and very impressive.

The exhibits of birds sitting on posts and tied with the cords were rather disturbing. Show was interesting but for someone not speaking French most of the value was lost. Since I don’t my rating...
