An unforgettable spectacle in the heart of the Pyrenees!

The Château de Beaucens, in the Hautes Pyrenees, houses one of the most prestigious collections of birds of prey: Kites, Vultures, Eagles, Bald Eagles, Falcons and Buzzards rub shoulders with Parrots. With musical background, a beautiful show rich in emotion to discover from the Spring holidays to the end of September, 15km from Lourdes. Children and adults are enchanted.

THE DECOR

In the Pyrenees, there is a medieval castle that has stood for 10 centuries on the rocky peak overlooking the village of BEAUCENS. Located 15 km from Lourdes, very close to Argelès-Gazost, the imposing ruin offers a wide panorama of the valley and the Pyrenees mountain range. It houses within its old walls one of the most prestigious collections of diurnal and nocturnal birds of prey in the whole world.

BIRDS IN THE FREEDOM

The birds of prey are exhibited in an attractive and original way, most of them without cages or bars, according to the traditional falconry technique; educational scrolls inform you about the biology of each species. Only the art inherited from the falconers of the Middle Ages, the AFFAÎTAGE (training) based on patience and gentleness allows you to admire these magnificent sailing birds in their fullness.

A SHOW AT THE FOOT OF THE DUNGEON

Every afternoon, you can admire them flying freely in the Pyrenean sky. They will be joined by our amazing parrots, sociable, noisy and multicolored in an exceptional animal show, rich in beauty and emotion. If our birds of prey and parrots are tame, there is no question during our flight demonstrations of making them into circus animals and asking them to do anything other than what they know and love to do in the wild. It is there in their environment that we must love and protect them...

• Show every afternoon at 3:15 p.m. and 5 p.m. ;
• From July 14 to August 25 inclusive, shows at 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
