ARGELÈS-GAZOST Towns and Villages in Argelès-Gazost

Sub-prefecture of the Hautes-Pyrénées, Argelès (the upper town) -Gazost (the lower town) is the gateway to Lavedan, ideal for its geographical location, in the heart of one of the most beautiful regions. It is also a spa town. At the entrance of the city, the animal park of the Pyrenees, presents the Pyrenean fauna: chamois, foxes, squirrels, and the highlight of the show: the marmots. Further on, Le Donjon des Aigles, in Beaucens, is home to birds of prey from all over the world in the converted ruins of an old feudal castle. Argelès Gazost is the starting point in the nature reserve of the Pibeste-Aoulhet massif or the Hautacam massif. We will also appreciate in the village of Saint-Savin, the Romanesque abbey of the 11th and 12th centuries.
