- Chalets d'Orlu: family vacations in the heart of nature
  Located at an altitude of 850 m in the Orlu Valley, 5 km from Ax-les-Thermes and 30 km from Andorra, the Orlu chalets have a privileged location for your holidays in Ariège with a breathtaking view of the valley floor and the Dent d'Orlu. These rentals are ideal for families and groups of friends looking to recharge their batteries in the mountains. Our cottages are not made of wood like a real alpine chalet, because in the Pyrenees, wood was used with stone as building materials.
  Made up of 7 identical groups, each comprising 2 or 3 adjoining accommodations, the Orlu chalets are a privileged and ideal place for a nature and cocooning holiday at the gateway to the Orlu National Wildlife Reserve and the Maison des Loups. They are backed by the Orlu campsite " Les Ioules " with which you can benefit from the services and activities: swimming pool in summer, playground, entertainment room, multi-sports ground, pétanque, ping-pong, discovery trail, relaxation area, essential grocery store, hiking and climbing area at reception, etc.
  We offer you 3 concepts:
  - " Le doux refuge ": this fully renovated, energy-efficient cottage measures 45 m². Rated 2 épis by Gite de France and 2 stars by Atout France, it can accommodate 4 people.
  - " L'aventure montagne ": this gîte, completely renovated and meeting energy standards, has a surface area of 90 m². Rated 2 épis by Gite de France and 3 stars by Atout France, can accommodate 8 to 10 people.
  - “ The 6-person chalet ”: with a surface area of 45 m², this is our standard gîte with unbeatable value for money.
  SUPPLEMENTS
  - Electric heating: 15 Kw/h included in the price (the additional Kw/h used will be payable at the end of the stay at the current EDF rate)
  - Baby bed: €10/booking - Bed linen: €10/bed - Towels (1 large + 1 small: €6)
  - End-of-stay cleaning: €120/booking. Complete package: €150.
  These supplements must be anticipated when booking or at the latest 15 days before the start of your stay.
  
  COMMON FACILITIES
  - Paying: Laundromat equipped with washing machine (€3 per token) and dryer (€4 per token)
  - Free: Barbecue - swimming pool (July and August) - multi-sports, football and pétanque grounds - children's games - apparatus - biodiversity discovery trail - shared berry area - walking/hiking guide - collective composter.

Paradise. I stayed in a very well-equipped and furnished chalet with a view of the mountains and forest. It had garden furniture, a clothesline, a kettle, heating, a TV (a few fewer channels than in the valley :), and Wi-Fi (Orange network reception was good; SFR, less so). There's a lovely swimming pool with two sections, one of which is 18 meters long, recently renovated, with an incredible view of the valley floor and the forest. Sun loungers are available, and floats are provided. The deputy mayor and her team gave me a very warm welcome. There's a small grocery store at the campsite reception, which is more or less stocked depending on the day, but it's very convenient as there are no other shops nearby. The reception hours are a bit limited. The clientele is friendly and respectful. The site is incredibly well situated in a west-facing valley. You can easily walk (or cycle) to Ax-les-Thermes downstream or to the Forges d'Orlu, museums, etc., upstream via the "Camina" trail, thus minimizing the need for a car. Numerous hiking trails and climbing sites start from here. The village of Orlu and its restaurant are easily accessible via a path along the stream. The IiO shuttle bus connects to Ax-les-Thermes and upstream for €1 from Monday to Friday; we hope it will run later in the evening and on weekends as well. Looking forward to returning very soon!

We were very happy with our stay at Camping d'Orlu. Excellent value for money. It was quiet and shady for us. Numerous hiking trails start nearby. The pétanque court and swimming pool were great.

Spend a pleasant week with the family at the end of August, clean chalet, exterior also frankly to redo activity nearby and breathtaking view of the mountain. SUPER.
