- Chalets d'Orlu: family holidays surrounded by nature
  Located at an altitude of 850 meters in the Orlu Valley, 5 km from Ax-les-Thermes and 30 km from Andorra, the Chalets d'Orlu offer a privileged location for your holidays in Ariège, with breathtaking views of the valley floor and the Dent d'Orlu mountain. These rentals are ideal for families and groups of friends looking to recharge in the mountains. Our cottages are not made of wood like a traditional Alpine chalet, as in the Pyrenees, wood was traditionally used in conjunction with stone as building materials.
  Comprising seven identical groups, each with two or three adjoining chalets, the Orlu chalets offer a privileged and ideal setting for a relaxing nature holiday at the gateway to the Orlu National Wildlife Reserve and the Maison des Loups (House of Wolves ). They are adjacent to the Orlu " Les Ioules " campsite, where you can also enjoy a range of services and activities: swimming pool in summer, playground, entertainment room, multi-sports pitch, pétanque, table tennis, discovery trail, relaxation area, grocery store, hiking and climbing area at reception, etc.
  We offer you 3 concepts:
  - " The gentle refuge ": this cottage, fully renovated and meeting energy standards, has a surface area of 45 m². Classified 2 ears of corn by Gite de France and 2 stars by Atout France, it can accommodate 4 people.
  - " Mountain Adventure ": This fully renovated, energy-efficient cottage has a surface area of 90 m². Rated 2 ears of corn by Gîtes de France and 3 stars by Atout France, it can accommodate 8 to 10 people.
  - " The 6-person chalet ": with an area of 45 m², this is our standard cottage with unbeatable value for money.
  SUPPLEMENTS
  - Electric heating: 15 kWh included in the price (any additional kWh used will be payable at the end of your stay at the current EDF tariff rate)
  - Baby cot: €10 / reservation - Bed linen: €10 / bed - Towels (1 large + 1 small: €6)
  - End-of-stay cleaning: €120 / booking. Full package: €150.
  These supplements must be planned for at the time of booking or at the latest 15 days before the start of your stay.
  
  SHARED FACILITIES
  - Paid services: Laundry facilities equipped with washing machines (€3 per token) and dryers (€4 per token)

Paradise. I stayed in a very well-equipped and furnished chalet with a view of the mountains and forest. It had garden furniture, a clothesline, a kettle, heating, a TV (a few fewer channels than in the valley :), and Wi-Fi (Orange network reception was good; SFR, less so). There's a lovely swimming pool with two sections, one of which is 18 meters long, recently renovated, with an incredible view of the valley floor and the forest. Sun loungers are available, and floats are provided. The deputy mayor and her team gave me a very warm welcome. There's a small grocery store at the campsite reception, which is more or less stocked depending on the day, but it's very convenient as there are no other shops nearby. The reception hours are a bit limited. The clientele is friendly and respectful. The site is incredibly well situated in a west-facing valley. You can easily walk (or cycle) to Ax-les-Thermes downstream or to the Forges d'Orlu, museums, etc., upstream via the "Camina" trail, thus minimizing the need for a car. Numerous hiking trails and climbing sites start from here. The village of Orlu and its restaurant are easily accessible via a path along the stream. The IiO shuttle bus connects to Ax-les-Thermes and upstream for €1 from Monday to Friday; we hope it will run later in the evening and on weekends as well. Looking forward to returning very soon!

We were very happy with our stay at Camping d'Orlu. Excellent value for money. It was quiet and shady for us. Numerous hiking trails start nearby. The pétanque court and swimming pool were great.

Spend a pleasant week with the family at the end of August, clean chalet, exterior also frankly to redo activity nearby and breathtaking view of the mountain. SUPER.
