    • This is the story of the passion of two men and the world-renowned wines they create at Domaine Pichard, nestled at the foot of the Pyrenees, at the crossroads of Bigorre, Béarn and Gers in southwest France.

Wine enthusiasts and owners of Domaine Pichard, Jean Sentilles and Rod Cork are brothers-in-law and enjoy the only estate in Madiran where all the vines face due south towards the Pyrenees in a single block. Our wines range from 3 to 20 years old.

"Their passion, courage, and tenacity are reflected in every bottle of these organic wines, tasted and appreciated around the world."

The estate is entirely surrounded by magnificent oak trees and forests, providing natural barriers that protect the vines and enhance the biological processes essential to production. The topsoil is composed of fine clay mixed with large, weathered pebbles of quartz, quartzite, and lydite dating back to the Quaternary period. This unique composition ensures optimal drainage as the grapes ripen in the sun, retaining heat into the cool evening air. Irrigation is natural, drawing from a network of hidden springs within the vineyard. These are the ideal conditions for producing these powerful wines.

The estate is entirely organic ; in 2015, it officially received French and European organic labels, three years after the start of the conversion process which began in 2012.

Experience unforgettable moments at Domaine Pichard! Throughout the year, Jean and Rod welcome you to their world and immerse you in the world of winemaking through a variety of activities. From introductory grape harvesting sessions to visits with children, there's something for all ages and interests, depending on your curiosity. Discover the secrets of Madiran with a unique immersion in the heart of the vineyards; book your special experience now!

      OUR RED WINES

The estate's red wines pair best with duck, poultry, pork, game, wild boar, venison, red meat and fish.

      • TANNAT: The Tannat grape variety has aromas of blackcurrant, red fruit, earth, and minerality. The extreme subtlety and complexity of Tannat are achieved through vinification in large oak casks and barrels for 24 to 36 months after harvest.

      • CABERNET FRANC: Cabernet Franc enhances the unique flavor of Domaine Pichard's red wines. Growing on south-facing slopes, Cabernet Franc develops a remarkable and elegant flavor. It brings freshness and elegance, with aromas of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and eucalyptus. Cabernet Franc enhances the unique flavor of Domaine Pichard's red wines.

      OUR WHITE WINES

The minerality and freshness of dry white Pacherenc are perfect as an aperitif or to accompany a dish of cured ham, a seafood platter, oysters, and shellfish. Pacherenc du Vic Bilh, with its higher sugar content, typically pairs well with foie gras, desserts, blue cheese, or goat cheese.

      • PETIT MANSENG AND GROS MANSENG: The Domaine's white wines – Pacherenc du Vic Bilh – are produced from two grape varieties: Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng. These white grapes are cultivated in the coolest areas of the estate. The balance of acidity, minerality, low sugar content, and hints of exotic fruit result in a range of dry and sweet white wines that are both subtle and well-balanced.

We welcome you all year round to the Domaine to taste our wines, but also to show you our winery located 5 minutes from Madiran.

      Looking forward to meeting you.

We received a very warm welcome at Domaine Pichard and immediately felt welcome. The incredibly friendly Welshman took the time to explain everything to us in English about the estate, the grapes, and the winemaking process. It was not only informative but also incredibly interesting and personally narrated. The wines we tasted were all delicious and truly showcased the quality of this beautiful estate. We had a wonderful afternoon and look back on it fondly! Thank you so much!

We discovered this vineyard yesterday while strolling through the appellation. We were welcomed by the owner, a passionate Welshman, who shared his knowledge with us and gave us a tour of the estate without spending any time. The tasting was truly well done and truly fascinating. A superb experience, thank you Mr. Cork, we will be back!
