Le Plateau de Beille Pyrenean ski resorts in Les Cabannes

An Ariège winter sports resort with an exceptional setting, 1h30 from Toulouse, the Plateau de Beille (1800 m altitude) welcomes many visitors every winter in search of Nordic winter sports. A former livestock plateau, the ski area has been open since 1989. It consists of around ten slopes.

You can indulge in the pleasures of cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and take advantage of the dog sledding school for unforgettable walks. You can even learn to build your own igloo! Mountain bike trails are laid out and several hiking trails allow you to discover the unique fauna and flora of this place.

The Plateau de Beille is bordered by the Aston and Labail rivers, two tributaries of the Ariège. It is a natural area of ecological, faunal, and floral interest (ZNIEFF): pine trees and peat bogs, chamois, and eagles enliven the landscape. It is an enchanting place, both in winter and summer, where there are many hikes. The Tour de France regularly passes through the Plateau de Beille, which also hosts many other cycling races (cyclosportifs de l'Ariégeoise).
