About

  • English
    • Renowned for its exceptional snow cover, the Cauterets winter sports resort is divided into two complementary areas: the Cirque du Lys and the Pont d'Espagne.

The Cirque du Lys area, with its 21 slopes (approximately 36 km), is the ideal place for downhill skiing and snowboarding. It is directly accessible from the center of Cauterets (only 30 minutes from Lourdes) thanks to the Lys cable cars (15 to 20 minutes). Currently, the Grand Barbat chairlift allows you to reach the highest point at 2415 m altitude (with the Crêtes chairlift), from where you can admire an exceptional view of the high peaks such as the Pic du Midi, the Vignemale, the Péguère and the Balaïtous.

For fans of Nordic skiing, snowshoeing or for a first introduction to downhill skiing, we recommend the Cauterets Pont d'Espagne site. Located in the heart of the Pyrenees National Park, this "Little Canada" offers an extensive Nordic area as well as a beginner's area dedicated to downhill skiing, including 3 downhill ski slopes and a prepared toboggan run.

Cauterets is also popular for its attractive village offering entertainment, off-piste activities, and a well-known fun and treatment thermal spa: Les Bains du Rocher.
