Musée des Augustins, Musée des Beaux-Arts Museums in Toulouse

Before entering, take the time to observe the magnificent, typically Toulouse architecture of this convent, one of the most beautiful monastic buildings in the region.

The Musée des Augustins, or Museum of Fine Arts of Toulouse, is a must-see cultural site in the Pink City. Created in 1793 and opened in 1795, it is housed in the former Augustinian convent, a 14th-century southern Gothic building.

Collections

The museum houses a rich collection of paintings and sculptures, ranging from the Middle Ages to the early 20th century.
You can admire works by renowned artists such as Moillon, Toulouse-Lautrec, Delacroix as well as European artists such as Le Pérugin, Murillo, Rubens, Van Dick, Bruegel, Jordaens.
It also contains a collection of exceptional Toulouse Romanesque sculpture.

Practical information

The museum is currently closed for renovations and accessibility upgrades. It is scheduled to reopen in late 2025.
During the construction period, the museum is offering events outside its walls to bring the collection to life.
