Église Saint-Exupère Historic Monument in Toulouse

The Saint-Exupère Church in Toulouse is a historical monument in more ways than one. Located in the old Saint-Michel district, on the right bank of the Garonne, it bears witness to Toulouse's history.

Architectural and artistic characteristics

Its octagonal bell tower houses a carillon of 14 bells.
The church contains remarkable works of art, including:

• An anonymous painting of Saint Teresa of Avila, located in the chapel of Notre-Dame de la Salette.
• A 17th century painting depicting the Virgin and Child Jesus appearing to a Carmelite monk, classified in the Palissy database.
• The paintings on the choir vault date from 1838 and are the work of the painter Giovani Soglia CERONI (1779-1856).

Walnut stalls line the side walls of the choir.

The Saint-Exupère church is therefore an important heritage site in Toulouse, both for its Baroque architecture and for the works of art it houses.
