      History and heritage

      Salies-du-Salat is famous for its salt water spring, which has been exploited since ancient times. This spring has made the town rich through salt exploitation. The town is now known as a spa town.

      The town also has a rich architectural heritage, with half-timbered houses, remains of fortifications and the Saint-Martin church.

    I was returning from Spain by motorcycle and looking for a place to stay for the night. At the Tourist Office, I met a super friendly advisor, who was also from Germany. Although there were no hotel rooms available (the city only has one hotel), after a phone call, I easily got a room in an apartment complex in the city. Thank you so much again.
