BAGNÈRES-DE-LUCHON Towns and Villages in Bagnères-de-Luchon

  • English
    • Bagnères de Luchon at an altitude of 630 meters is the 5th spa resort in France, the first in the Pyrenees, with Belle Epoque architecture, with its beautiful villas.
In the 19th century, it was fashionable to come there on vacation: Flaubert, Lamartine, Dumas, Daudet, Napoleon III and even Mata Hari came there to take the waters. Located in a splendid natural amphitheater, it runs alongside the highest peaks, the so-called "3,000".
The Musée du Pays de Luchon sheds light on the art and history of traditions in this region. The aeronautical museum evokes the history of aviation in the Pyrenees on another theme.
