- The Pic du Midi de Bigorre peaks at an altitude of 2,877 meters. It is one of the Grands Sites of Midi-Pyrénées, an absolute must for mountain lovers and those who enjoy breathtaking views. From there, you can see the entire Pyrenees mountain range and the Occitanie plateau.
  
  No need to be an experienced hiker to get there, the Pic du Midi has a cable car so the whole family can get there safely and in 15 minutes. On site, there is an orientation table and guides who will take you on a journey from this Pyrenees viewpoint. At 360 degrees, an enchanting landscape awaits you! You can even, depending on the season and the weather, observe vultures, chamois and other birds of prey. For the more courageous, the 12-meter-long footbridge is suspended in the void, with a glass floor, for a truly original and unique experience!
  
  The Planetarium Dome is also a place of astronomy, for observing the celestial vault and the planets. Here, there is no stray light, just Man and the sky, in an educational interface with scientists and experts. It is possible to sleep at the Pic du Midi, to enjoy all the joys it offers!

Pic du Midi, 9:30 a.m. An absolutely magical experience in the Pyrenees! I was lucky enough to have exceptional weather with glorious sunshine and an incredible panoramic view of the snow-capped Pyrenees. The landscape is simply enchanting, pure and breathtakingly beautiful. The Pic du Midi cable car is very well organized, and the arrival at the summit is spectacular. Special mention goes to the passionate local guide who gave a very interesting presentation on the history of the Pic du Midi, the origins of the Pyrenees, and numerous local anecdotes. A real bonus to the visit. The price is a bit high, but you quickly understand why: maintaining the site in the high mountains, the infrastructure, and the activities offered must represent a huge cost. The experience is definitely worth it. ✅ Helpful tips: Arrive early in the morning to enjoy better visibility and avoid the crowds. Bring warm clothing, even if it's sunny; it's cool at the summit. Check the weather forecast before heading up to fully enjoy the panoramic views. Ideal for mountain lovers, photographers, stargazers, and those who appreciate natural landscapes. 🅿️ Free parking: Free parking spaces are available around La Mongie depending on the season and how busy it is, including some resort parking lots a little further from the cable car departure point. Arriving early makes it much easier to find a spot. 💰 Price: The ticket may seem expensive, but the experience, the exceptional views, and the unique setting in the Hautes-Pyrénées make the visit truly memorable. I highly recommend this must-do activity in the French Pyrenees!
