Louisette, made in Barèges since 1905

Louisette's grandmother already lived on the Lienz plateau, on the very spot where the building now stands. It was in a small farmhouse that the adventure began. From a dairy shop, it grew into an inn thanks to trade with the spa-goers, already numerous in the region at that time. Places to eat were scarce, and thanks to the quality of the carefully selected products, sourced from local producers (one might even say neighbors), Louisette's grandmother offered simple yet exquisite dishes, divinely cooked with love.

It is this warm spirit, with no compromise on the quality of the ingredients, that Louisette and her mother inherited. The Auberge du Lienz has been passed down through generations, with a very loyal and ever-growing clientele. Nature here provides everything a good cook needs to prepare traditional, generous, and delicious dishes. " Chez Louisette " is now a place where people come with family and friends, (almost) all year round, for lunch and dinner, with the assurance of being welcomed as if they were at home. Louisette is a generous person, both in her heart and in her cooking. With values of respect for food and her guests, she surrounds herself with an equally passionate and competent team!

At the foot of the ski slopes and mountain hiking trails, the Auberge du Lienz is a perfect establishment for skiers, snowshoers, and cross-country skiers, who only have to give a stroke of their pole to cross the door and leave behind, in passing, a trail of intoxicating and mouthwatering aroma, invading the Lienz plateau… It is certainly this bouquet of rich and refined flavors that attracts a majority of gourmets!

On your plate: the Pyrenees and nothing more

The Auberge du Lienz is open at two times of the year:

• In summer, hikers enjoy relaxing on the terrace or in the beautiful interior dining room. On the sun loungers, you can take a restful break with a splendid view of the Pyrenees and the Pic du Midi. To get there, take a small road on the right just after the village of Barèges, and a parking area awaits you.
• In winter, the Auberge du Lienz is open from the start of the ski season. Is there a bit of snow and are the ski lifts running? You can go to Louisette's! Getting there is easy: put on your skis or any other sliding equipment, snowshoes, or even a dog sled… and head to the bottom of the chairlift.

On the menu, Aimée and her team offer a generous selection to satisfy all tastes: 5 starters to choose from, a seafood option with oysters and shrimp, 7 main courses, 2 meal-sized salads, and 4 desserts. Children are not forgotten, with a dedicated kids' menu. And for discerning palates, certain specialties are available by reservation, such as frog legs with parsley and garlic or rib-eye steak.
