Couvent des Jacobins Historic Monument in Toulouse

The Jacobin Convent of Toulouse, located in the heart of the city, is a jewel of southern Gothic architecture and an emblematic historical monument.

Founded in the 13th century by the Dominican Order (called Jacobins in Toulouse), this convent bears witness to the establishment of this religious order in the region. It was within the walls of the church that the University of Toulouse was founded in 1229.
