The birthplace of Marshal Foch in Tarbes is a historical monument of great importance, both historically and architecturally. It is located in the historic quarter, near the Sède Cathedral.
Historical significance
It is the birthplace of Ferdinand Foch (1851-1929), Marshal of France, Great Britain and Poland, and an emblematic figure of the First World War.
The house became a museum in 1951, on the occasion of the centenary of his birth, in order to preserve the memory of this illustrious man.Architectural features
It is a typical 18th century Bigourdan house, with remarkable architectural elements such as an exterior gallery with balusters, lambrequins and marble-framed windows.
The interior features a beautiful carved wooden staircase and Louis XV-style walnut fireplaces.Museum

Visitors can discover personal objects, portraits and testimonies of the life and career of this statesman.
