    • Cradle of Pyreneism and heir to a long mountain tradition, the Gavarnie-Gèdre ski resort was created in 1971.

It offers a grandiose and unequaled high mountain setting in the Pyrenees because of its exceptional panorama of the world-famous Brèche de Roland and the many surrounding 3000m.

The ski area offers 25 runs including the longest green run in the Pyrenees, “Les Marmottes” (5.5km).

The pleasure of observing the panorama from the top of the resort is not reserved for the best! At Gavarnie-Gèdre, the whole family can take the chairlifts together and choose their favorite route in ideal circumstances.

Also characterized by quality snow cover throughout the season, an incomparable welcome and tranquillity, all at really affordable prices, we understand better why ski lovers are careful to keep it a secret!

      Chutttt!!!!

Skiing but not only, the resort offers many
activities: a 3km loop of cross-country skiing, unusual snow groomer rides, snow buoys and laser rifles!

Gavarnie is a small resort in the French Pyrenees it is mostly comprised of blue and green runs so is suitable for beginner skiers. All of the sking takes place in a single location so it is easy to meet up with when sking as a group It looks like it would have a good selection of off piste skiing but snows was not fresh when we were there There are limited runs for advanced skiers we skied the available runs in a day this was a mixed group of novice and advanced skiers. Warning if you buy a multi day lift pass and decide you dont want to ski more days they will not refund any days you do not use. There is a single restaurant / bar and a small shop. Overall the skiing is relaxed and is a good venue for a days occasional skiing.

A really really good place. We enjoyed a lot! Beautiful mountains. One can lose themselves just sitting on the snow and watching those mountains.

From Gavarnie you drive up the wonderfully twisty turney exposed D923 up to its very end, where there is a parking space facing a steep cliff to the south. This is the Col des Tentes. If you follow...
