Do you know the B-board ? This new discipline straight from the United States , combining yoga and fitness movements on an unstable board , promotes balance , cladding , and muscle strengthening in a motivating and lively musical atmosphere.

The B-Board, what is it?

The basis of the B-board is this board with two faces : an inflatable face , therefore unstable , and a flat face . On an evolving and lively music , the choreographed training allows to warm up the body from bottom to top , alternating the direction of the board on the ground. We then take advantage of the instability of the board thanks to the inflatable face placed on the ground to work on the static and dynamic balance , and sometimes of its cushioning when it is placed with the inflatable face in the air, using it as a trampoline to bounce on either side of it.

This fresh discipline, created by a Physiotherapist and Aqua Stand Up professional (practice of fitness on a board stretched over the surface of a swimming pool ), is inspired by the wooden boards that surfers used for training on the ground. , between two sessions at sea. It is therefore particularly suited to the body , its needs and its limits. Awesome isn't it?

And Stéphanie has the gift of making it all very fun : the session is introduced by a hovering air and movements to wake up the body , we warm up the ankles by familiarizing ourselves with the rocking of the board , then the rhythm gradually accelerates. little, it's the turn of the legs to practice. We continue on strengthening the abdominal belt , without forgetting the arms and head . Throughout the exercise, we feel the energy gradually rising in our body , to end with some yoga movements , in order to stretch the muscles to relaxing sounds. It takes around 30 minutes of effort, and 15 minutes of explanation and breaks for this very complete training , and, for people with a good athletic level , it is possible to organize intensive sessions of 45 min (1h with explanations and pauses). After the session , I feel that my whole body has worked, without ever having been tortured, I feel revitalized !

Stéphanie is the French ambassador for B-board ! A certified ATA Yoga teacher with over 10 years of practice, she has been captivated by the countless benefits of B-board practice for body and mind . It is therefore with her enthusiasm and natural motivation that she embarked on the adventure of B-board .

The advantage of this discipline is that it can be practiced all year round, in all circumstances, and in all environments ( outdoors, indoors, on the ground, or even in a swimming pool !), Provided that we have a little space and a few boards!

Stéphanie therefore suggests working on her balance in different contexts:

  • Indoor B-board lessons , at the Dance Studio of the Municipality of Vielle Aure , every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. - Price 12 Euros.
  • In summer , lessons can take place outdoors , at the Agos leisure center , on the banks of the Neste .
  • Stéphanie also offers Yoga Paddle lessons , in other words, it's the practice of yoga on a B-board.
  • The board can also be fixed by cables stretched over the surface of a swimming pool . Fitness classes are therefore given on the floating board , this is called the Aqua Stand Up !
