Embark on an incredible journey through time!

At Xploria, children become true explorers and embark on a journey to discover the history of life on Earth. Along a path of approximately one kilometer, the route follows the thread of time and allows them to discover, step by step, the major transformations of our planet and the emergence of different life forms.

Throughout the walk, the exhibition unfolds in the heart of nature: display cases, reconstructions, fossils to observe and touch, illustrated panels, and life-size dinosaurs punctuate the visit. From the earliest forms of life to modern times, young and old alike journey back through billions of years of Earth's history!

An original way to discover natural sciences as a family, in a forest setting where you also enjoy walking, observing and exploring.

The little paleontologists

What if children stepped into the shoes of a paleontologist?

At Xploria, you don't just look: you experiment! Four excavation workshops are spread along the route to allow young visitors to become paleontologists for the duration of their visit and make their own discoveries!

Equipped with a shovel, brush, or paintbrush, budding paleontologists can gradually uncover the remains hidden beneath the sand. Skeletons, eggs, bones, or dinosaur footprints: it's up to them to observe, search, and understand what they have just unearthed.

These excavation areas are freely accessible during the visit and allow children to alternate between scientific discovery, hands-on activities, and play. Activities related to paleontological digs are also offered during school holidays.

Learning through play

Xploria's route has been designed so that everyone can enjoy the visit at their own pace, according to their age, curiosity and interests.

The exhibition has a wealth of content, but there's no obligation to read everything! The most curious visitors can delve deeper into the different periods of the history of life, while younger visitors may prefer to touch the fossils, answer the quizzes, search for hidden animals, or enjoy the various play areas.

It's also the perfect place to take original photos and videos and keep unforgettable family memories!

A large area dedicated to biodiversity allows visitors to observe an educational pond equipped with a window offering an amazing view of the life hidden beneath the surface of the water.

Practical aspects

The trail winds through nature. It is accessible to all-terrain strollers, but may be more difficult to navigate with strollers equipped with small wheels.

On site, you will find toilets with a changing table, a food service area and several picnic areas allowing you to fully enjoy the day.

And to extend the discoveries, Xploria can easily be integrated into a day or a stay in Ariège: about thirty minutes from the park there are in particular La Ferme aux Reptiles, in La Bastide-de-Sérou, as well as the underground river of Labouiche, in Baulou, two other visits very popular with families.
