    • A small town in the Hautes-Pyrénées, Galan is a fortified town located 27 kilometers from Tarbes and Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges.

Galan's heritage is very interesting, especially with regard to its civil and religious architecture. Indeed, at the turn of a street, you will not be surprised to see a 13th century gate tower, houses perched on arcades, half-timbering...

The town hall is also original, as it was built on a market hall. It probably dates from the 14th century and has an orange plasterwork as well as a very beautiful flowered balcony.

You can't miss its Saint-Julien de Brioude church. Its bell tower, with a large spire 16 meters high, will lead you straight to the religious building. It mixes Romanesque and Gothic styles. Inside, you will have the chance to admire some wall paintings as well as numerous stained glass windows depicting several Saints. It was listed as a Historic Monument in 1944.

The village is crossed by several streams including the Baïsole and the Petite Baïse. It is a preserved environment, in the heart of the mountains.
